Peony Wedding Flowers ~ Sunshine Coast Wedding Florist

Pretty Pink Wedding Flower Table Centres

Peony Wedding Flowers meets glamorous Sunshine Coast Wedding Venue

Peony Wedding Flowers Sunshine Coast

There is nothing more exciting than a chic wedding venue, teamed up with gorgeous Peony Wedding Flowers. Today’s wedding feature is at the luxurious and über cool, The Lakehouse. Located in the hub of Brightwater – Mountain Creek,  positioned perfectly on the lakeside with a quiet and ambient surround. Every time I walk into this place I just feel a sense of style, it is fitted with unique and stylish décor, embracing a subtle colour palette and retro fitted lights! The staff are always so lovely and accommodating when I go in, so I can only imagine how nice they are with their clients.

Our wedding clients on this occasion were Lanie and Sam. Lanie was a mega, cool chick with great style, and a really good direction of what she wanted with her flowers… and Sam I don’t think we ever got the pleasure to meet 🙁 When Lanie came to us, her biggest stipulation was that her bouquet had to be the same as the bridesmaid’s bouquets. No problem! The bouquets were all pale pink peonies, tightly clustered in a round classic hand held bouquet. I think Lanie was delighted that we were fine with this wedding bouquet option, we didn’t try to talk her into having a big bouquet for her, we just accepted that was what she wanted and from there the ideas blossomed!

The table centres were stylish lowset glass cylinders provided by us. Each vase was lined with a leaf strapping and filled with pale pink Clustar Roses, white Hydrangea and pale pink Peonies. I think the picture speaks for itself they were just delicious looking!

Then we moved onto the bridal table, with a simple setting of four globe vases for the girls to pop their flowers into. But above them was a striking feature of fresh pink and white blossom garland, which was entwined onto the retro fitted lights.

Other little wedding flower touches included a single pale pink peony for her gorgeous wedding cake (not sure who made this, but wow) if anyone knows please comment and I will add a link in this post for you. Single stem hydrangeas for her DIY candy buffet – again was so delicious looking and I had to show some restraint whilst setting up.

I really enjoyed this wedding, it just exuded elegance, style and romance. From what I gather Lanie loved her wedding flowers too, in fact she emailed us photos I think three days after her wedding (that’s a record for me, so nice work Lanie).

Peony Wedding Flowers ~ Hot tips for Sunshine Coast brides

Peonies are available in November and part way through December. The use of our free hire vases meant Lanie and Sam could spend more on flowers to achieve their desired table centre. Using the bridal bouquets on the bridal table to decorate allowed Lanie to allocate her budget to the bespoke chandelier flower garland, giving her guests something to ooh and aah over through the night. You can also pop over to our Blog post all about Peony Wedding Flowers, to learn a little bit more about this amazing flower.

Woombye Wedding Flowers ~ Chapel of Love

Wedding Flowers Sunshine Coast

Glorious flowers for a coastal country Woombye wedding…

When our dear friend and product photographer Nicola from Nicola Holland Photography asked us to collaborate on a gorgeous coastal country themed wedding shoot with her…there was no way we could we say no.  Nicola is like any organised bride and just sets to work finding the right suppliers, models and locations for her wedding photography shoots.  She had a clear idea of the wedding flowers for the shoot and we found it best to communicate together with a pinterest board to gather floral inspiration and a colour scheme.

On the day our amazing creative studio manager Jess took the lead on the flower design for the shoot.  She set to work styling an amazing table setting incorporating decor elements from Made 2 Match Events and even some of Nicola’s favourite vases from her own collection.  The table just exuded romance, charm and this sense of pure delight.  Words really can’t explain it, you really just have to see the images to understand how pretty it really looked.  Pretty florals incorporated into the table styling included vintage roses, ornamental kale, ivy foliage, amaranthus, spray roses and snow berries.  The floral styling continued out onto the chapel entrance with a gorgeous garland of lush foliage, this just added a perfect amount of colour to the fresh white architecture of the chapel.

Wedding flower decorating Sunshine Coast

Now…the wedding bouquet…has to be every florists favourite element of the whole wedding flower setup.  Why you ask? Well it is our chance to create a personalised and bespoke floral design especially for you.  It is our way to say we really care about you, your special day and what we love to do…make flowers. The bride Alexis held a gorgeous bouquet of plum pink Roses, Parfum de Grande Roses, Hydrangea, Dahlia’s, Lisianthus, Daisies and Amaranthus, perfectly finshed with lashings of satin ribbon to compliment the flowers.

Our roses beat the Heat this Valentine’s Day!

Roses Sunshine Coast

Don’t fear the heat wave, we’ve got our roses all under climate control…

It is going to be a hot Valentine’s Day literally a heat wave! Check it out @higginstormschaser

Luckily our team has taken some extra steps to ensure our roses stand up to the heat this Valentines Day (Tuesday 14th Feb in case you were wondering).

How our roses stand up to the heat…

Valentines Florist Sunshine Coast

1. All bar one of our rose only orders will be designed into vases or bouquets to ensure additional water supply during hot days.
2. All our roses are sourced from a premium quality grower, they are farmed in hot climates so they can handle our nasty climate.
3. Our roses are really good quality meaning they have sturdy, thick stems and magnificent sized blooms.
4. We add extra support to our rose stems with a florist wire to ensure the flower head doesn’t droop – this is done elegantly.
5. We have additional couriers who take smaller delivery runs to ensure our flowers are not sitting in vans all day.
6. Our couriers vehicles all have air conditioning.
7. We hand deliver directly to the recipient where possible, if they are not home and it is too hot to leave waiting we won’t!

Here are some extra florist tips to help you get the most out of your flowers this Valentine’s Day…

1. Keep them in a cool, well ventilated room where possible.

Seasonal Flower Sunshine Coast Delivery

2. Don’t display them near a sunny window…ouch!
3. Freshen their water daily, cold water is nice too.
4. Cut their stems daily about 1cm and place straight back into clean, fresh water.
5. Spray there heads with some water daily or a few times through the day if you can.
6. If they are really dehydrated after a day of you being at work and them in the house locked up, try all of the above and if they fit pop them into the fridge for an hour or two.
7. Roses can also be dried by hanging them upside down, they will lose their colour but they have a charm about them.

It is our quality promise!

Remember if you receive i-Blossom Roses this Valentine’s Day and feel you have provided your roses the best of care and they haven’t lasted well, please send us a pic and your phone number we will happily arrange a replacement for you.

Glamorous Ebb Waterfront Wedding

glamorous ebb waterfront wedding

How much do we love a glamorous Ebb Waterfront Wedding! And to be situated so close to this fine dining waterfront restaurant that caters to so many weddings on the Sunshine Coast, we are lucky enough to venture there most weekends!  We were so excited to work with Tegan and Ryan for their special day at Ebb…their vision for a coastal art deco styled wedding was a definite treat for our florist crew.

Tegan had her heart set on working with a predominant white colour palette and touches of yellow and black.  The perfect amount of glamour was achieved with an abundant supply of White Phaelenopsis Orchids and Yellow Oncidium Orchids.

The creative styling team from Splash Events worked their magic on the reception tables, transforming Ebb into a whole new era of Gatsby Glamour!  The tables were adorned with elegant black candelabras, gold rimmed plates, black table runners and chair tie backs.  Our team came in and complimented the styling with full length garlands of foliage and pops of yellow Billy Buttons and Orchids.

The wedding photos really speak for themselves, so a big shout out to Luke and his talented team at Playback Studios…. enjoy the glamour and flower love!!

Charming Autumn Wedding Affair

Wedding Flowers Yandina Station

Libby and Andrew tied the knot at the spectacular Yandina Station.  Blessed with a charming Autumn day to say their vows and celebrate late into the evening.

We were so excited to work with Libby, knowing she had been a Brisbane based florist her expectations were high! Libby provided us with images of the flowers and bouquets she loved, and we worked with her to edit the design and flower variety to perfect her bouquet.  Her bouquets were filled with locally grown delights like Dahlias and David Austin Roses.  Perfect little pops of blue and orange were added with Sea Holly and Miniature Roses. We loved how her bouquet expressed a classic feel through it shape and design, but the combination of exquisite blossoms made you feel like you were walking through a cottage garden!

The styling on the day was by Splash Events, seriously these girls will never let a Bride and Groom down.  With the perfect amount of ceremony glamour and style with a lavish sheer drape, feature crystal chandelier and wooden furnishings.  Styled with a few lace trimmed jars filled with coral, pink, white and blue florals.

How to Make Your Event a Success

No matter what your event is for, planning a successful event requires a bit of forethought and focus on details to ensure that it not only achieves its goals, but that the attendees have a great time. Here are some tips for making your event one to remember.

Know the Purpose of the Event

Every event has some sort of purpose or goal that it is seeking to achieve, and being clear about this will assist greatly in the allocation of resources such as time and money. Knowing where you are, where you want to go, and what you are aiming to achieve will contribute to a cohesive event that achieves its goals in the best way possible.

Choose an Appropriate Venue

A key detail of planning a successful event is choosing an appropriate venue and location. If you hold your event in a location that is not easily accessible, this may affect the number of people who attend, and could contribute to the success (or lack thereof) of it achieving its goals. The size of the venue is also an important factor, as you do not want to be squashed into a small space, but conversely you would not want to have an empty room. Sending out invitations with a request for people to RSVP will help with knowing how many people will actually be attending.

Plan the Order

The planning stage needs to include a written draft of how you would like the event to run, so that everybody knows their own responsibilities and what is expected of them at different times during the event. It will also assist with planning resources and time management leading up to the event. A written document can also help people to stay focussed and committed to their responsibilities with making it a success.

Décor

One way to really make your event one to remember is to pay attention to details such as the décor, and styling of the venue. Having beautiful flower arrangements and decorations for the tables can really turn a drab venue into something that really sparkles with life and colour. If there are key people who you want to thank or award for their efforts, beautiful gift baskets Sunshine Coast are a great way of saying thank you. Companies such as i-blossom provide flower arrangements and beautiful gift baskets Sunshine Coast and to Brisbane, which their experienced staff deliver and install at the event.

Have an Action Plan for Attendees

When planning your event, know what you want to achieve, and what actions you would like attendees to follow up on, after the event, so that you can focus the event on achieving these outcomes. Including an action plan for after the event will give people a clear path to follow once the excitement of the event has worn off.

Birthday Flowers

Often when planning for birthdays of loved ones it can be challenging to know what to give them, but organising for a flower delivery Sunshine Coast region can say much more than any gift. The meanings of flowers vary depending on personal beliefs, and where in the world you come from. They are often tied into history and culture. As a general rule, any flower can mean whatever you would like it to mean, but here are some of the flowers for birthday months and what they can represent.

January

Carnations are the flower for January, and essentially this flower symbolizes pride and beauty. A pink carnation can represent the love of a woman or a mother, while a white one connotes innocence and pure love. They are a delightful addition to any bouquet.

February

The traditional flowers for February are the Iris and Violet. The purple Iris symbolizes friendship, eloquence and wisdom, and the blue Iris can represent faith and hope. The Violet is known to symbolize modesty and faithfulness.

March

The traditional flower for the month of March is the Daffodil which is thought to symbolize chivalry, rebirth, new beginnings or unrequited love. This beautiful delicate yellow flower was chosen as a symbol for the Cancer Council’s research because of its connotations of hope.

April

For the month of April, the traditional flower is the Daisy, which is believed to connote innocence, loyalty and purity. The Gerbera Daisy has become known as a flower that inspires a feeling of cheerfulness. With its bright face it certainly does make you feel cheered up!

May

Lily, and Lily of the Valley are the flowers for the month of May, and with their crisp, light petals it is easy to understand why they have been attributed as a symbol of purity, modesty and virginity. The orange and yellow lilies can represent passion and gaiety.

June

A Rose by any other name would smell as sweet. The Rose has become the traditional flower of love, signifying love in all its forms, and with its sweet scent the Rose is a flower that lifts the heart and inspires the senses.

July

The traditional flower of the month of July, is the Larkspur which can represent strong bonds of love, so is a popular flower to choose for wedding anniversary bouquets. The white flower conveys a happy nature and purple is believed to symbolize first love.

August

The Gladiolus is the birth flower for the month of August, and symbolises the strong August born people very well, as it represents strength of character, honour and faithfulness. This was the flower of the Gladiators which is where it took its name, and can also connote sincerity of spirit.

September

The flowers for the month of September are the Morning Glory and the Aster. Asters are symbols of powerful love, and can also represent patience, elegance and daintiness. The gorgeous Morning Glory flowers are aptly named, as they bloom in the morning but die by the afternoon.

October

Marigold is the flower for October, and what a gorgeous flower is the vibrant Marigold, hailing from Mediterranean countries and popular for both its versatility and beauty. The Marigold is used auspiciously for Hindu religious ceremonies but in English culture is used to connote sorrow and sympathy.

November

The beautiful Chrysanthemum is the birth flower for November, symbolizing love and cheerfulness. It is one of the most widely cultivated flowers across the world and can also connote friendship, joy and compassion, which suits the exuberant spirit of those born during this month.

December

The Poinsettia and Holly are two of the flowers of this month, and both feature in the tradition of Christmas celebrations. The Poinsettia, also known as the Christmas Star, was believed to have become a symbol for Christmas from a Mexican legend where a child, with nothing more to offer, gathered weeds from the side of the road to place on the altar.

Easter Gift Ideas

Easter is traditionally a Christian celebration of Jesus rising up from the dead, but for many people it is a great excuse to celebrate each other by spending time with family and friends, heading off for a beach holiday, and giving each other gifts of chocolate. But what do you get as an Easter gift for someone that doesn’t like chocolate? Here are some great ideas of gifts to give to the special people in your life to let them know that you are thinking of them.

Gift Basket

A gift basket is something that always pleases, no matter who the person is or what their tastes are. Sunshine coast gift baskets are a popular choice for people who have no idea what to get for their loved one, but want to give them something special to brighten up their day.

Inflatable Water Accessories

If you are heading off on an Easter holiday with the kids why not spoil them with some new inflatable water accessories rather than going for the usual chocolate. Not only will you have the opportunity to enjoy the gift with them, but you will be feel good about giving them something that gets them active and burning up the calories of the chocolate that they get from everyone else!

Flowers

For any occasion or celebration, a bunch of fresh flowers delivered straight to you is a wonderful gift that keeps on giving, not only to the person who receives them, but to everyone else that comes into contact with them. They say that diamonds are a girl’s best friend but the next best thing is a bunch of gorgeous flowers for her to look at every day and think of you. Even though you don’t really need any excuse to buy someone flowers, they are a beautiful way to say ‘Happy Easter’ to the people that you care about.

Balloons

Whether you are old or young, man or woman, balloons are a joy to receive and a pleasure to give! Choose a bunch of delightful balloons in all the colours of the rainbow and have them delivered to your friend, or family member and make them smile this Easter.

Valentines Day a Disaster? Here’s How To Make it Up!

So you either forgot about Valentine’s Day, didn’t plan effectively, or your efforts did not go down as well as you’d hoped? Never mind. Remember that in life, the point of power is always in the present moment, so you can start from where you are right now, try for a second chance, and win over your Valentine. Here are some ideas that could see you out of the dog house, and back in ‘Lovers Lane’.

Surprise Date

The thing that really gets a lot of people’s hearts racing is when someone sweeps them off their feet, and unexpectedly whisks them away on an adventure. Plan your adventure according to your partners tastes, and think about the things that he/she would like to do. What makes them tick? What would really make them smile? Surprise them with an evening, or a day, of experiences that will show them that you really do see who they are, and value them.

Berries and Bubbly

Sending a sunshine coast gift baskets to the workplace of your lover could go either way, especially if you are not in the good books. You might just find that they decide to share it with the cute office accountant instead of you. But it’s worth the risk, especially if you have some ground to make up. The iblossom Berries and Bubbly gift box is the ultimate romantic gift for that special someone, whether you are still wooing them, or they are already yours.

Cook For Your Lover

The value of preparing a meal for someone with your own two hands is often underrated, but as any woman can attest, having a meal prepared for you by your lover is just so romantic. Doing the groundwork and getting the background information about her favourite foods will certainly score you some points, and the more courses, the more impressed she will be!

Mystery Flight

Organising a mystery flight and taking your lover secretly to the airport is one way to cheekily side-step the inevitable explanation as to why you forgot Valentine’s Day. While boarding a plane to a mystery destination, your lover will be too excited to ask, and will probably assume that it was all planned that way.

Flowers

If all else fails, say it with flowers. Sending a bunch of beautiful flowers with a note and a card, straight to her door, will brighten her day and remind her that you do think of her. If you are feeling creative why not pen a poem, or some gentle words to let her know how you feel.
